Integration & Positive change
We are registered and regulated by the Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner (OISC) to offer Asylum Protection Advice to Level 2. We are not lawyers but can find you a solicitor. Our Asylum casework team can also provide support with asylum appeal applications and travel documents. DASH is proudly part of the Refugee Action, Asylum Guides initiative. A programme which supports people early in their asylum journey to address the causes of crisis and prevent barriers to justice Asylum Guides are trained volunteers, matched up with asylum seekers to explain the asylum system in a way that is accessible and easy to understand.

Our client welfare support work is an incredibly broad part of our work and encompasses any and all support need that our clients may have along their asylum journey. It can include help with access to housing, health and education, GP registration and referral to mental health services. We help with access to school places and uniforms. For people who are destitute or in crisis, we make referrals for food and clothing. We offer this as outreach work and initial accommodation support, together with our twice weekly client drop-in and phone support.
A new project for DASH to better integrate our clients into their new community. We do this by forming solid partnerships with existing services to support our client signposting and by raising awareness and educating wherever possible. We also support our clients into volunteering opportunities and, where possible, secure training for those who volunteer for us. This currently includes Food Safety, First Aid and Community Interpreting.
