"The personal benefits have been tremendous with friendships formed, challenges overcome and general camaraderie within the organisation."

Volunteers are the lifeblood of DASH, without them we wouldn’t exist! Volunteering can take many forms, here are some examples… (see Roles & Training for more)

Drop ins – reception, kitchen, sorting donations, packing food bags, form-filling and, most importantly, greeting and chatting to clients.

Outside drop ins – giving lifts to appointments (solicitors, Home Office), collecting/delivering donations, hospital & home visits, accompanying clients on DASH trips (theatres & museums).

PLEASE NOTE: due to the suspension of drop-ins as a result of Covid-19, our current volunteer roles are:

Asylum Guides, Interpreters and Fundraisers. Email abdul.h@huddsdash.org for more.

"I've made friends with people from so many different cultures. Statistics become real people with their own, individual story."

Our 2019/20 Volunteer Development Programme will:

  • Deliver a programmed package of training opportunities
  • Establish a network for volunteers to connect, share ideas and feed back

"I would recommend it to anyone."

If you would like to volunteer for us, you can apply using this Volunteer Application Form . Please read Roles & Training first. We’re committed to ensuring that volunteers aren’t out-of-pocket and reimburse expenses on production of receipts.
